Safe City Advisor

Bjørn Ihler is a writer, filmmaker, and an internationally renowned activist for the prevention of radicalization into violent extremism. In relation to this, Bjørn has co-founded the Khalifa Ihler Institute. This organisation promotes and develops strategies for terrorism and extremism prevention, with a focus on sustainable peacebuilding and community cohesion in both online and offline communities. Furthermore, Bjørn is currently Chair of the Independent Advisory Committee of the Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism.

Bjørn’s contributions as a Nordic Safe Cities Advisor are especially within creating and building digital prevention at local and national level. He has worked as an advisor on the Safe Digital City project, with a special focus on implementing new digital initiatives and stronger moderation online together with municipalities and civil society actors.
