Empowering youth to act
Nordic Safe Cities and ISD offers a series of collaborative workshops for cities from across the Nordic region on youth dialogue and engagement in PVE/CVE.
Youth engagement initiative in your city
In order to cater for the diverse needs of cities across the Nordic region, ISD and Nordic Safe Cities envisage three distinct workshop.
- Youth Innovation Labs are 2-day capacity building workshops for youth that connect PVE/CVE youth activists with local artists, creatives and tech-sector experts to learn best practices, collaborate and create new, innovative campaigns.
- Municipal Policy 1-day workshop aims at bringing together municipal practitioners with local youth and has two key aims: firstly, to build capacity of local practitioners involved in PVE/CVE on youth engagement in local resilience building efforts, and secondly involving youth as key actors in this endeavour.
- A Combined Model 3,5 day workshop bringing together the Youth Innovation Lab with the Municipal Policy workshops. This model creates the opportunity for municipal officials to witness the launch of the Lab campaigns amplifying the voices of local youth efforts to local policymakers.
ISD is an international ‘think and do tank’ that runs the world’s leading policymaker, practitioner and ‘grassroots’ CVE networks, and is one of the world’s leading implementers and conveners of policy makers and practitioners on counter-extremism issues.
ISD also runs the Youth Civil Activism Network (YouthCAN), which focuses on youth action in preventing and countering violent extremism. YouthCAN is designed to upscale and optimism grassroots efforts by young people to prevent and counter violent extremism of all forms.
