Tore Bjørgo
Safe City Advisor
Dr. Tore Bjørgo is professor at the University of Oslo and Director at “Center for Research on Extremism: Right-Wing Extremism, Hate Crime and Political Violence” (C‑REX). He is also adjunct professor at the Norwegian Police University College and has previously been adjunct research professor at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI). Since 2002, he has been a coordinator at the Norwegian Consortium for Research on Terrorism and International Crime, lead several international research projects and has published several books. His research experience is within the areas of terrorism, violent extremism, deradicalization, criminal gangs and subcultures, just to name a few.
As a Nordic Safe Cities Advisor Tore brings expert knowledge to our initiatives and holds a firm grasp on what is currently going on in the Nordic extremism scene. He has, among others, worked with us on our Safer Cities Norway project, advising our Norwegian cities on creating new initiatives for safety and inclusion and is also involved in our Safe Digital City Norway project.
